Bike wapas mil gayi.. !!!! Hurrey !!!!

Last week, I was shocked after listening to news from Jiju, that "somebody has stolen our Bike". This was second similar experience for us, after exactly a month of span. Last month, we have lost our mobile and watch. This time it was Bike!!! We were sure that we wont get bike back. After lots of enquiries, we came to know that bike was insured just 2 days back before it was lost/stolen. Each of us gave a sign of relief saying "Thank God". We have reported in police station and were waiting for FIR to get in hand to claim for insurance. We were relaxed as it was insured and slept at around 11. Bingo! at around 2:00 a.m. we got a call from police station about Bike Recovery \:D/ . Next day, Jiju went to police station, collected the bike after paying rs 1500/- to police . Dont expect bike to be in well condition. Lock was broken, wires were cut out. But it was small compared to whole bike. ;)

Rang De Basanti

Rang De Basanti Rocks !!! Quite good and well directed, patriotism with appropriate fun movie. Great performance by everyone especially Aamir Khan (as always).
But I wonder, how many of us will be able to follow a message in it ? Everytime we see a patriotic movie, we get inspired by it and soon forget about patriotism and starts living our normal life by thinking that "System will NEVER Change but we 've to adjust accordingly". Situations presented in movies like RDB, Page 3 are real pictures of today's India. So what actually we are doing for it ???? Waiting for some Hero to come and do good to us / our country ???

Pehla Nasha.. Pehla Khumar...

10th May, 05: From morning, I started getting calls congratulating me from relatives/friends... Flight to Japan was at 5:30 p.m. So before that I did check-in and currency exhange. It was my first experience so was having fun and also was a bit of nervous. I was roaming in air-port by forgetting poster somewhere, after that search for it and again forgetting it.. This process keeps on repeating till I went for Security Check. After tht, entering the dragon... "Ab to bhaiyya plane ka bada gate khula huaa payenge YO! ... lambe se plane me masti se jayenge YO! .. Lucky Rupesh ;) " As it was first time, I was already on cloud no 9, before flight takes off... Hey! just to add, I got window seat. How lucky I was !!! I called my parents and told that I'm leaving to Japan...They were quite happy and giving me dosage of advice [I'm still bachcha for them na ] .. I was looking outside the window after our flight took off. It was quite good scene, outside.. I wished to be bird at that time.. For first few minutes, I was going along with clouds... but after that I was going above the clouds.. In the child hood, I always wished to walk/go above clouds... and that wish was completed here.. Thank u, God... I was just observing each and everything in plane, as it was new to me. After some time, I had dinner in plane along with cold-drink... and then listing to Marathi Songs, I felt asleep.

Finally I got VISA...

9thMay, 05: "Aankho me Sapne liye IITK se chal to diye... Jane ye rahe le jayegi kya Japan ?? " With lots of dreams in eyes, I went to Delhi. In the morning, after reaching in Delhi, I did super fast shaving in train (now I have to do everything super fastly to go to Japan) and then went on the way of Chanakyapuri (Japan Embassy) . The Visa office opens at 9:30 a.m. in the morning, whereas I reached there at 7:00 a.m. I was dying by hunger but no hotels were there nearby office. Japan to jana tha... aur bhukh bhi lagi thi.... Like oasis in dessert, I found tea stall, had biscuts with tea over there and again started waiting outside the Office. Finally, at 9:30 a.m. , I entered in VISA office, showed them all documents. One was missing...Invitation letter from Conference ???? They dont want its printout... They want only FAX copy... now what ??? ab kya karu ??? I was not having FAX copy and next day only I have to go to Japan. I called pallavi and asked her to send mail to Japan but no reply. In the mean time, I called Conference Office, Japan, but main hurdle was Communication. Dude! they dont know English.. They asked me to repeat it many times and that too in slow voice. Somehow I told them that I'll send mail and asked them to reply to it. Again, I called pallavi and asked her to send mail. She helped me alot in this regard. Thanks to her... Finally I received their mail telling They cannt send me Visa Invitation. My first International adventure was finished in Delhi itself.. :(-
Still, my frnd, swapnil asked me to call them, send them mail again.. I did it but everything was in vain.. No proper reply from other side... Finally, getting frustrated we started cancelling tickets. Before that my devil mind ;) asked me to call to VISA Office and so I called up 'n I got good news that They received my VISA Invitation and I can get VISA on the next day.. Hail VISA Office... Hail Conference.. Hail Swapnil .. Hail Pallavi... Though I got VISA , many things were still pending... like taking print out of poster, accomodation arrangement in Japan, etc.. etc.. I called at home to tell them that "I got VISA and am going to Japan tomorrow". After listening this, my mother bursted into tears with lots of care and lots of happiness.. In the evening, I 'n swapnil went to Malls in Gurgaon, we roamed, ate there, did shopping of deo ;) and came back. In the meantime, we had ordered for poster printout. We got printout in the night at 1:00 a.m. Swapnil was there with me all the time. On 10th May, I brought VISA from Japan Embassy and then had lunch with Swapnil. Finally, he helped me to go to International Air-port. Really, He helped alot till I left to Japan.

Leaving IITK to go to Japan

4th to 8th May, 05: Returned back to IITK on 4th May from my sisters marriage. After reaching safely in IITK, I was planning to work very hardly so that I can cover up my almost 20 day's work. On 5th morning, I left to Lucknow air-port to drop Pallavi. After coming from lucknow, I met Dr. Pankaj Jalote regarding Cadence Silver Medal Interview but he showed me Red Signal. So I was thinking that I missed many opportunities like attending International Conference (WWW05 , Japan), cadence interview, thesis work for 20 days, etc...etc. On 6th, I met my thesis guide PMitra regarding thesis work completion. He has already given me green signal to defend my thesis. Main hurdle I was finding in defending thesis is approval of Dr. Harish Karnick. For that I have to run the program for almost 2-3 days and take the results. I started doing that. In the mean time, I was thinking of going to Japan somehow.. Even there were hopes of getting T.A. from Institute. But what about VISA ??? I heard that VISA processing takes much time so what to do then???? Left hopes and focused only on Thesis. I found that I cannt do many things without someone's motivation... The same case happened with WWW conference. My CS304 partners, Amit Awekar, Jaya Kawale and Mohit Chowdhury motivated me to try for VISA. (Pallavi was in B'lore for Google's I'view) So whts next ???? Chal pade bhaiyya... "Dauda dauda bhaga bhagasa .... Dauda dauda bhaga bhagasa .... Waqt yeh sakt hai thoda thoda... ". Calling to VISA office on friday, Taking approval of guides, HOD, Getting Institute NOC, submitting application to DRPG, preapring poster, calling Japan office, catching Travelling agent, plane ticket booking, convencing Travelling agent for waiting for money, giving him post-dated cheques (which didnt get cleared on given date ;) ) ........ It was like "Din bhar kaam nahi aaram koi yeh bataye jaye kaha hum... ". But somehow I did it and left to Delhi on 8th night with strong desire to go to Japan and attend international conference. Whole night I was thinking that This is my first International adventure, so I shud get success in it.
Still, Everything was in the air : whether I'll get VISA within a day ? whether I'll get poster printout somewhere ? etc.. etc...
